• This is an IU Co-Sponsored Program
• Summer Internship Program at the Council on International Education Exchange (CIEE) Study Center at East China Normal University
• Typical enrollment: 25-50 students from U.S. colleges and universities

• "Internship" Program track*
• Chinese language at beginning, intermediate or advanced level (based on placement test)
• Unpaid, 3-credit internship project with accompanying seminar
  • Internship placement of 100-110 hours; 18 seminar hours
  • Placements in sponsored companies that may include local Chinese companies, multi-national corporations, as well as international small and medium enterprises and non-profit organizations

You may apply if you:

• are an undergraduate student at any Indiana University campus who is making normal academic progress
• are in at least your fourth full-time semester of college
• are not a citizen of the PRC, Taiwan, Hong Kong, or Macau
• are a business major
• have approximately a 2.75 cumulative GPA

China Normal University, the local host institution, will not accept students who are citizens of the People's Republic of China (PRC), Taiwan ROC, Hong Kong SAR, or Macau. This includes those who are permanent U.S. residents. Students of Chinese ancestry who hold U.S. passports are welcome to apply.

Students must have a passport valid for six months beyond program's end date.

Students must be able to demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and self-reliance.

Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of Education Abroad. Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are ineligible.
