Seoul-CIEE

• This is an IU Co-Sponsored Program
• Summer program with Council on International Education Exchange (CIEE) at Yonsei University International Summer School
• Typical enrollment: 100-150 students from U.S. colleges and universities

• "Korean Studies" summer program track* with CIEE 
• Courses taught in English at Yonsei International Summer School in a variety of subjects alongside international students 
• IU students are required to take a minimum of 6 credits but may take 9 credits with approval from Education Abroad Advisor 
• Students may only take 6-week courses 
• Includes week-long orientation, plus Cultural Reimbursement program to encourage students to attend Korean museums, historic sites, plays, and more

• CIEE Housing options include:
  • Standard housing
    • twin room in a dorm on campus
  • Select Plus housing
    • single room in a residence hotel off campus within 20 minutes of the Seoul CIEE Center
    • additional fee charged directly to students
• Note: Indiana University will not support plans for students to obtain independent housing. Students are required to live in program-provided housing in Seoul
• Students complete the CIEE housing survey and then apply through Yonsei; placements are made first-come, first-serve

You may apply if you:

• are an undergraduate student at any Indiana University campus who is making normal academic progress
• are in at least your third full-time semester of college
• have taken or are enrolled in at least 2 semesters of Korean language OR 2 courses with a primary focus on Korea
• have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA

Students must have a passport valid for six months beyond program's end date.

Students must be able to demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and self-reliance.

Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of Education Abroad. Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are ineligible.
