• Costume & Character in London Theatre (Undergrad: T323; Grad: T523)
  • 3 IU credit hours
  • Experience theatrical character development through costume design. Survey social influences on costume and dress worn by characters during various periods in history including contemporary trends and dress.
  • 3-hour lecture each morning
  • Afternoons devoted to costume studios & collections, museum visits, live theatre performances, theatre tours, and fabric shopping and designing.
• Overnight excursion to Bath to experience the Costume Museum and ancient Roman Baths
• One day excursion to Stratford, birthplace of Shakespeare and home of the Royal Shakespeare Company, including walking tour and live theatre performance

You may apply if you:

• are an undergraduate or graduate degree candidate at any Indiana University campus who is making normal academic progress
• are in at least your second full-time semester of college
• have approximately a 3.0 cumulative GPA

Students must have a passport valid for six months beyond program's end date.

Students must be able to demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and self-reliance.

Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of Education Abroad. Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are ineligible.
