• Semester Program with Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa

• CIEE Study Abroad “Language & Culture” program* track 
• Required Portuguese language courses based on placement test 
• Courses taught in English by local faculty at the CIEE Study Abroad Center for CIEE students only 
• Optional direct-enroll courses with Portuguese and international students at University Institute of Lisbon Business School (ISCTE) and Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCSH)

• Standard Housing
  • Single room in a homestay (two meals/day included)

  • Locations within a 45-minute commute from CIEE Lisbon
• Select Housing (additional fee charged directly to students)
  • Single room with air conditioning and en-suite bathroom in a residence hall
  • Locations within a 15-minute commute from CIEE Lisbon
• Note: Indiana University will not support plans for students to obtain independent housing

You may apply if you:

• are an undergraduate student at any Indiana University campus who is making normal academic progress
• are in at least your third full-time semester of college
• have approximately a 2.75 cumulative GPA

Students must have a passport valid for six months beyond program's end date.

Students must be able to demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and self-reliance.

Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of Education Abroad. Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are ineligible.
