Athens-CYA

• This is an IU Co-Sponsored Program
• Semester Program with College Year in Athens (CYA)

• Courses taught in English for CYA students only
• Courses include history, politics, art history, archaeology, religion, philosophy, and urban planning, sustainability, and more
• Courses in Latin and ancient and modern Greek

• CYA housing options include:
  • Furnished apartments within 10 minute walk of CYA Academic Center with other CYA students
  • Limited number of homestay placements
• Note: Indiana University will not support plans for students to obtain independent housing. Students are required to live in program-provided housing in Athens.

You may apply if you:

• are an undergraduate student at any Indiana University campus who is making normal academic progress
• are in at least your fourth full-time semester of college
• have approximately a 3.0 cumulative GPA

Students must have a passport valid for six months beyond program's end date.

Students must be able to demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and self-reliance.

Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of Education Abroad. Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are ineligible.

• IU scholarships, grants and loans applicable to program costs with some exceptions. Please carefully check these exceptions before you commit to a program.
