Students must apply independently for housing in Wollongong, just as Australian students do. Students interested in University accommodation should apply for this option as soon as Indiana University accepts them to the program. Please visit the University of Wollongong's Accommodation Service for details.

IU students tend to stay in Campus East, I-House, or Kooloobong Village. Visit each housing site to see more about the meal plan options available. 

Education Abroad encourages students to apply for more than one housing option simultaneously as there is limited space available. Some housing options will require an application fee and an extensive application. If you have questions, please contact Education Abroad.

You may apply if you:

• are an undergraduate student at any Indiana University campus who is making normal academic progress
• are in at least your third full-time semester of college
• have approximately a 2.75 cumulative GPA

Biology majors need to have completed L111, L112 and L113 (or an upper-level lab) prior to participation in the program.

Psychology majors are strongly encouraged to have completed PSY-K 300 (or comparable statistics course) prior to participation in the program.

Students must have a passport valid for six months beyond program's end date.

Students must be able to demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and self-reliance.

Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of Education Abroad. Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are ineligible.

Program fees for this program will increase starting spring 2025.  Fee will include a component based on student residency.

Financial Aid and Scholarships:

• IU scholarships, grants and loans applicable to program costs with some exceptions. Please carefully check these exceptions before you commit to a program.
• Limited number of travel grants available for Indiana residents to help defray program costs. All Indiana residents will be considered based on need and merit; no additional application is required.
