Prague-CIEE

• This is an IU Co-Sponsored Program
• Semester Program with Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) with direct-enroll class options at Charles University, the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU), or the Art & Design Institute (ADI)

• CIEE "Central European Studies," Business, Arts + Sciences,” or Communications, New Media + Journalism” program track* 
• Courses taught in English at CIEE Prague Center for CIEE students only 
• Area study courses available in Czech history, economics, politics, psychology, literature, art and architecture, media studies, social issues, and visual and performing arts 
• All students must take required 3-credit Czech language course  
• Optional, unpaid 3-credit internship 
  • 10 hours/week (min. 100 hours per semester) 
  • Placements in start-ups, media outlets, think tanks, and other organizations 
• Students can choose to take up to 6-credit hours a local institution including: Charles University, The Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) , The Architectural Institute in Prague (ARCHIP), Art & Design Institut (ADI)

• CIEE Housing options include:
  • Standard housing (located within 40 minutes from Prague's city center and CIEE Prague)
    • single room in homestay with English-speaking family; two meals/day included; may live with or without another CIEE student in the same homestay
    • double or triple room in an apartment or residence hall
  • Select housing  (located within 40 minutes from Prague's city center and CIEE Prague)
    • doubleroom in an apartment or residence hall
    • additional fee charged directly to students
  • Select Plus housing (located within 40 minutes from Prague's city center and CIEE Prague)
    • private room in an apartment or residence hall (no roommates)
    • additional fee charged directly to students
• Note: Indiana University will not support plans for students to obtain independent housing. Students are required to live in program-provided housing in Prague.

You may apply if you:

• are an undergraduate student at any Indiana University campus who is making normal academic progress
• are in at least your third full-time semester of college
• have approximately a 2.75 cumulative GPA

Students must have a passport valid for six months beyond program's end date.

Students must be able to demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and self-reliance.

Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of Education Abroad. Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are ineligible.

Financial Aid and Scholarships:

• IU scholarships, grants and loans applicable to program costs with some exceptions. Please carefully check these exceptions before you commit to a program.

• IU Scott C. Schurz Study Abroad Scholarships of $2,500-$5,000
