Due to the schedule of required courses for nursing students, opportunities to study abroad for a full semester will be limited. Students applying to enter the nursing program as juniors may be able to study abroad their sophomore year. While most of the following programs state you must be in your fourth semester to apply, you can contact the study abroad advisor and petition to be considered as a sophomore.
Nursing majors may apply for any program as long as they meet the eligibility requirements. While abroad, students can take courses that fulfill other minor, general education, or elective requirements. Many summer programs can fulfill the General Education World Languages and Cultures requirement. Students should be prepared to show course materials to departments, when appropriate, for final course approval at the conclusion of the program.
"As fun as it is to explore with your friends, take a little adventure by yourself. It can actually be fun to sightsee alone and just wander. You learn a lot about yourself as a person."
