The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at IU promotes original research, instruction, and outreach focused on Latin America and the Caribbean. Students pursuing the undergraduate area certificate or minor from CLACS may apply for a number of Education Abroad programs that offer language and CLACS-related courses. Many programs offer Spanish or Portuguese languages classes and/or allow students to take coursework taught in the host language across disciplines.
Students looking for Latin American & Caribbean Studies credit should first consider the programs highlighted on this page. Available coursework may include: courses pre-approved with an IU equivalent and courses that need to be evaluated. For IU Education Abroad Programs, see each program's Course Equivalencies list for details.
Students who need to fulfill specific major/minor requirements while abroad should consult their academic advisor.
