• CIS housing options include:
  • Homestay
    • Two meals/ day included
  • Apartment
    • double room in a shared apartment
  • Guesthouse
    • shared guesthouse with other CIS interns
• Students placed in rural placements live in homestay (private room) 5 days/week and travel to Chiang Mai on the weekend to live in a guest house (double occupancy)

You may apply if you:

• are an undergraduate student at any Indiana University campus who is making normal academic progress
• are in at least your fourth full-time semester of college
• have approximately a 2.75 cumulative GPA

Students must have a passport valid for six months beyond program's end date.

Students must be able to demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and self-reliance.

Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of Education Abroad. Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are ineligible.

Summer 2024

• IU portion of fee: $241.95
• IES Abroad portion of fee* paid to IU bursar: $6,2400 (academic fees, housing, orientation, field trips, health insurance)
• Meals: $850
• International airfare: $1,700

• Total estimated cost of program is $9,031.95.

Personal expenses and vacation travel additional. Initial prepayment of $500 due upon acceptance.

Financial Aid and Scholarships:

• IU scholarships, grants and loans applicable to program costs with some exceptions. Please carefully check these exceptions before you commit to a program.
