- Program Organization
Herron School of Art and Design offers this course exploring museums, galleries, and historical sites in London, United Kingdom. London offers a concentration of major art collections, ranging from the arts of ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt to the present day. Students will observe and discuss works of art with their instructors in order to learn about historical concepts and artistic practices.
- Students will visit the British Museum, National Gallery, Tate Modern, Tate Britain, Victoria & Albert Museum and other sites including St. Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey.
- Classes will meet each morning with free time to explore in the afternoon and evening.
- Students may choose to use a free day to explore other sites in and around London or to visit Windsor Castle and Oxford on an optional day-trip.
- Academic Program
All participants are required to register for a one-credit course.
Undergraduate students may enroll in either Studio Art (HER-R 202), or Art History (HER-H 497).
Gradute students may enroll in either Studio Art (HER-R 511), or Art History (HER-H 590).
Instructors are also available to oversee optional two-credit independent study courses in fine art or art history that will involve pre and post-trip coursework in fine art or art history.

- HousingStudents will stay at the Generator Hostel for the duration of the program. This lovely neighborhood is close to the British Museum and London University. Regular bus, train and Underground service give students easy access to most locations.

Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of the Office of Overseas Study. Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are ineligible.
