Program Dates
Summer 2017: May 8-13
- Program OrganizationStudents will spend one week at the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain, gaining an intensive historical, sociopolitical and cultural perspective on health and healthcare delivery in Spain. Topics presented are from the point of view of the Spanish healthcare system, and how the topics affect healthcare providers. Students will incorporate the seminar topics into their reflection assignments. They will choose one specific issue to develop a scholarly paper related to course content.
- Academic Program
Students will enroll in NURS-K 492 (BSN) NURS-J 692 (MSN): Contemporary Global Health Issues (3 credits).
The course will count as an elective in the BSN and MSN programs. Graduate students must complete additional work/assignments.
This program is restricted to students of Nursing.

- HousingStudents will be housed in apartment living arranged through the University of Navarra. The housing is within a ten minute walk of the University campus. The apartments can accommodate four students with two bedrooms and individual beds for each student.
- Program Eligibility
You may apply if you:
- are an undergraduate student at any Indiana University campus who is making normal academic progress
- This program is open to BSN and MSN students of the IU School of Nursing from the Indianapolis, Columbus, and Bloomington campuses.
- BSN students must have completed 1 semester in the Nursing program (no prerequisite for MSN students).
- have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
Students must be able to demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and self-reliance.
Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of the Office of Overseas Study. Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are ineligible.
