There are limited options for students to earn Human Development and Family Studies credit abroad through our office at this time. Students can participate in programs that will fulfill other minor, elective, or general education requirements (many summer programs can fulfill the General Education World Languages and Cultures requirement). Consult with your academic advisor for ways to incorporate study abroad into your academic plans. See the SPH study abroad website for additional opportunities to earn SPH credit abroad.

Non-IU Program Options
Some students' interests might not be accommodated by the options given above. There are hundreds of additional study abroad programs throughout the world that IU students can participate in as a "Non-IU Program." Visit the Non-IU Programs section of our website to learn more about participating in these programs as an IU student.
To begin your search for a Non-IU program, we recommend browsing the websites of organizations with which we partner on multiple study abroad programs: CIEE, DIS, IES Abroad. Before you pursue one of their programs, make sure to check our website and make sure it is not a program that we co-sponsor – in which case you would apply to the program though our office.
Many IU students pursue programs through other providers. To browse programs through an array of providers, check out the IIE Passport website.
