Indiana state residents (in-state students) with demonstrated financial need and academic merit are eligible to apply to be an Australia exchange student, which provides a reduced tuition rate for the Education Abroad programs in Adelaide, Canberra, Perth or Wollongong. Students accepted as an Australia exchange student will pay a reduced-rate fee which is lower than the advertised program fee. There are a limited number of reduced fee exchanges and the selection process is competitive.
Estimated Cost Spring 2024
Students selected for the Reduced Fee Exchange will pay $7,165.70 to IU in tuition and fees for the semester abroad. See Australia Exchange Fee Sheet for more details. Room and board will be paid directly to the Australian University, and may range from $3,500 to $7,000. See individual programs for more detailed estimates.
Application Procedure
Students will be prompted to fill out an exchange scholarship application when applying for one of the included Australia programs.
The scholarship application requires students to select their first-choice of the Education Abroad programs in Adelaide, Canberra, Perth or Wollongong, Australia. Students can also identify whether they would like to be considered as an exchange student at other Education Abroad programs in Australia if they are not offered an exchange slot in their first-choice program.
